Music style
Classic 70s style with heavy slap bass, wah-wah guitars, and a tight brass section punch.
Intro
(Heavy drum break with a syncopated kick, followed by a sliding slap bass riff. A wah-wah guitar enters, scratching out a rhythmic pattern. A sharp trumpet blast signals the start.)
Verse 1
Walking down the street with a neon glow,
Got the rhythm in my heels, nowhere else to go.
The sidewalk is humming, the air is getting thick,
That four-on-the-floor beat is doing the trick.
Chorus
Get on the one, let the bass line take control,
Feel the fire burning deep inside your soul.
It’s a funk vibration, a rhythmic celebration,
Moving every nation with this sonic sensation.
Verse 2
Copper-toned horns blowing loud and proud,
Setting off a spark in the middle of the crowd.
No need for a reason, no need for a rhyme,
Just stay in the pocket and stay on time.
Bridge
(The music strips back to just the bass and drums. Handclaps on the 2 and 4. A Moog synthesizer starts a cosmic, swirling solo as the tension builds.)
Work it out! Pop that string! Let the whole world hear you sing!
Final Verse
Midnight is calling but we’re just getting warm,
Dancing through the static, riding out the storm.
The groove is the pilot, the soul is the ship,
Don’t let the rhythm ever lose its grip.
Outro
(The brass section returns for a final staccato hit. The bass continues to riff as the vocals fade out with chants of 'Keep it funky' and 'On the one'. Final snare crack.)
