Songr Terms of Use
Last updated: 5 October 2026
These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) are a legally binding agreement between you and Appresio Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”). They govern your use of:
- Songr, our app for iPhone and iPad (the “App”); and
- our website songr.app, including its free lyrics generator (the “Website”),
together, the “Service”.
By downloading, installing or using the Service, or by making a purchase, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Please read Section 5 carefully. It explains how subscriptions renew automatically and how to cancel them.
These Terms are the end-user licence agreement (EULA) for the App. If Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies to your copy of the App, these Terms apply alongside it.
1. Who we are
Appresio Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 16738606.
Registered office: 86–90 Paul Street, London EC2A 4NE, United Kingdom.
Email: [email protected]
Telephone: +44 7865 057435
2. Who can use the Service
- You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.
- If you are under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Service only with the permission of a parent or legal guardian. They must agree to these Terms on your behalf and are responsible for your use and your purchases.
- You may not use the Service if the law prohibits you from doing so.
3. The Service
Songr makes songs with artificial intelligence. Depending on your plan and the features available at the time, the App lets you:
- write or edit lyrics from your idea, from a Song Ideas form, or from a photo;
- make songs, with vocals or instrumental, and their cover art, using Suno-based models. Each request makes two versions of the song;
- make a music video, in which the person in your photo appears to sing a short clip of your song. This feature needs a Subscription; and
- listen to songs in Explore, a showcase of songs made with Songr.
Third-party AI services do the generation on our behalf, as described in our Privacy Policy. Before your content is first sent to them, the App asks for your permission. The AI features cannot be used without it.
The Website gives information about Songr and offers a free lyrics generator. There are no accounts or purchases on the Website.
We may change, add or remove features, models, styles and limits, and we may replace the AI services we use. We will not materially reduce what you have paid for during a current paid period without telling you, unless the change is required for legal or security reasons, or for reasons outside our control.
4. Your licence to use the App and the Website
4.1 The App. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download, install and use the App on Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. Other accounts associated with you through Family Sharing or volume purchasing may also use the App, where that applies.
4.2 The Website. We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to view the Website and to use its lyrics generator in line with these Terms.
4.3 Restrictions. Except where the law allows it despite this restriction, you must not:
- copy, modify, translate or create derivative works of the App or the Website software;
- decompile, reverse engineer or disassemble them, or try to derive their source code;
- rent, lease, lend, sell, sublicense or redistribute the App;
- get around or interfere with generation limits, paywalls, request limits or security, or use bots, scrapers or other automated means to access the Service (ordinary search-engine indexing of the Website is allowed);
- use the Service to build or train a competing product or an AI model; or
- remove or alter proprietary notices.
5. Subscriptions and purchases
5.1 What we offer
Songr can be used for free within limits. Paid options may include:
- auto-renewable subscriptions, weekly or yearly (each a “Subscription”);
- a free trial of a Subscription;
- introductory offers, where the first period of a Subscription is charged at a lower price. The first week may be charged at a lower price, or the first month or the first year may be paid in advance at a lower price. After the offer ends, the Subscription renews at its standard price; and
- song packs: one-time purchases that add song generations to your balance. They are not subscriptions and do not renew.
The App shows the available plans, what each includes and its price in your currency before you buy, and Apple shows them again on its purchase sheet. Prices, taxes and currency depend on your App Store country. Offers may vary by region and over time. They may be limited to eligible users, for example one free trial or introductory offer per Apple ID, as Apple determines.
5.2 Payment
All purchases are processed by Apple and charged to your Apple ID. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. For a free trial, the first payment is charged when the trial ends, unless you cancel in time (see 5.4). For an introductory offer, the offer price is charged at confirmation of purchase. An offer paid in advance covers its whole offer period; a pay-as-you-go offer is charged for each offer period. The standard price applies from the first renewal after the offer ends.
5.3 Automatic renewal
- Your Subscription renews automatically for the same period, weekly or yearly, at the standard price then in effect, unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. This includes the end of a free trial or an introductory offer.
- Your Apple ID account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- If the price of your Subscription changes, Apple will tell you in advance and, where required, ask for your consent before charging the new price.
5.4 How to cancel
You can manage your Subscription and turn off auto-renew at any time after purchase in your Apple ID settings:
- on iPhone or iPad: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Songr → Cancel Subscription; or
- in the App Store app: tap your profile picture, then Subscriptions.
To avoid being charged for the next period, cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends, including the end of a free trial or introductory offer. After you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. Deleting the App does not cancel your Subscription. Apple manages billing, so we cannot cancel a Subscription for you.
5.5 Free trials
If you are eligible for a free trial, you get the Subscription’s features for the trial period shown in the App. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the Subscription starts and you are charged automatically. If you buy a Subscription during a free trial, any unused part of the trial ends, where Apple’s rules provide for this.
5.6 Song packs
A song pack is a one-time purchase. It does not renew. Section 6.3 explains how its generations are used.
5.7 Refunds and cancellation rights
Apple is the seller of purchases in the App, so refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. We do not see your payment details and cannot issue refunds ourselves. Apple’s terms also govern any statutory right to cancel a digital purchase, for example the 14-day cancellation period in the UK and the EU. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights, including where digital content is faulty.
5.8 Restoring purchases
To restore an active Subscription on a device signed in to the same Apple ID, use Restore Purchases in the App’s Settings or Restore on a paywall.
6. Generations, limits and credits
6.1 Free generation. A new Songr profile may receive a one-time free song generation. It is given once per profile and is not renewed.
6.2 Subscription allowance. A Subscription includes an allowance of song generations and an allowance of music videos. The App shows the allowance for your plan. We do not state the numbers in these Terms, because they may change for future periods. Each allowance renews at intervals counted from the date your Subscription started, not on calendar dates, and the intervals can differ: for example, music videos renew weekly even on a yearly plan. Unused allowance does not carry over. It ends when its interval ends.
6.3 Song packs. Generations from a song pack are added to your balance and never expire. They can be used only while you have an active Subscription. If your Subscription ends, they stay in your balance and become usable again when you subscribe again. In each period, your Subscription allowance is used first and your song-pack generations after it.
6.4 What counts as a generation. One song request makes two versions of the song and counts as one generation. Music videos are counted against their own allowance. Writing lyrics, titles and styles in the App does not currently use generations.
6.5 Failed generations. If a song or video generation fails and nothing is produced, including when an AI service declines the request, the generation is returned to your balance automatically.
6.6 Your balance and your profile. Your Subscription status and balance are linked to your Songr profile. The App restores your profile through iCloud Keychain on devices signed in to the same Apple ID (see our Privacy Policy, Section 3). If you lose access to your profile, contact us with your previous User ID or your Apple receipt, and we will try to restore it.
6.7 No cash value. Allowances, free generations and song-pack generations have no cash value. They cannot be transferred, exchanged or refunded, except as the law requires or as Apple decides on a refund request.
6.8 Fair use. We may limit use that is automated, excessive or abusive.
7. What to expect from AI-generated content
- AI output varies. Lyrics, songs, cover art and videos are generated automatically by AI models. They may be inaccurate, unexpected or of uneven quality. Similar or identical results may be generated for other users from similar requests. We do not guarantee that a result is unique, original or fit for a particular purpose.
- No review before delivery. We do not review results before they reach you. Review them before you use, publish or distribute them.
- Similarity to existing works. Despite safeguards, a result may resemble existing music, lyrics, voices or images. Check that your use does not infringe anyone’s rights, especially before a commercial release.
- Labelling. Some platforms, distributors and laws require AI-generated content to be disclosed or labelled. You are responsible for meeting those requirements.
8. Your inputs
“Inputs” means everything you submit to the Service: prompts, ideas, lyrics, titles, style descriptions, Song Ideas answers, photos, screenshots and any other material. You confirm that:
- you own your Inputs, or have every right, licence and permission needed to submit them and to let us and our providers process them as described in these Terms and our Privacy Policy;
- your Inputs and your use of the Service comply with these Terms and the law; and
- for any photo or screenshot that shows a person, you comply with Section 9.2.
You keep whatever rights you have in your Inputs.
9. Content rules
9.1 General rules
You must not use the Service to create, upload, publish or share content that:
- imitates real artists: asks for, or presents a result as being by, sung by, or in the voice or style of a specific, identifiable real artist, band or performer, or uses their name, likeness or voice to suggest their endorsement or involvement, unless you have their authorisation;
- copies other people’s work: submits lyrics, poems, melodies or other works that you did not write and have no permission to use, such as copyrighted song lyrics, or tries to reproduce existing songs;
- infringes anyone’s copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, personality or other rights;
- is hateful, harassing or threatening; promotes violence or discrimination against people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age or similar characteristics; or glorifies terrorism or violent extremism;
- is sexually explicit or pornographic, depicts non-consensual sexual content, or sexualises minors in any way, which is strictly prohibited and will be reported to the authorities where required;
- defames a real person, or is intended to bully, humiliate or intimidate them;
- promotes self-harm, suicide, illegal drugs, weapons or other illegal activity;
- is misleading: impersonates a person or organisation, spreads disinformation, or is designed to make people believe that AI-generated content is real, for example fake statements by real people, scams or political manipulation;
- contains malware, spam, or other people’s personal data, such as addresses or phone numbers, without their permission; or
- breaks any law, or the terms of any platform where you publish it.
9.2 Photos and screenshots of people
The music video feature makes the person in a photo appear to sing. Because this can be misused to create deepfakes, these rules apply:
- Use only photos of yourself, or of people who have given you their explicit permission. By uploading a photo, you confirm that every identifiable person in it has agreed to an AI-generated video being made of them and to the way you will use or share it.
- No minors. Do not upload photos of anyone under 18 for music videos, even with permission.
- No celebrities or public figures without their authorisation: politicians, influencers and other well-known people included.
- No deception or harm. Do not create or share videos that put words in a real person’s mouth to mislead others, damage their reputation, harass or sexualise them, show them in an intimate or humiliating situation, or are used for fraud or impersonation.
- Say it is AI when you share. When you share a music video outside the Service, do not present it as a genuine recording of the person, and make clear that it is AI-generated wherever viewers could otherwise be misled.
- Use photos you have the right to use. For example, do not use photos taken by others without their permission.
Song Ideas can take a photo or a screenshot, such as a screenshot of a dating profile for Match Song. Upload a screenshot of someone else’s profile only for your own private use. Do not publish a song made from it in a way that identifies, exposes or mocks that person without their consent.
9.3 Enforcement
The AI services we use apply their own content filters and may decline a request. We may review content, refuse or block requests, remove songs from Explore, restrict features, or suspend or end your access if we reasonably believe you have broken these Terms. Where required, we may report illegal content to the authorities.
10. Your rights in what you create
“Output” means what the Service generates for you: lyrics, titles, style descriptions, songs, cover art and music videos.
10.1 Lyrics. You may use lyrics, titles and style descriptions written by the Service, in the App or on the Website, for any lawful purpose, including commercial purposes.
10.2 Songs made with a Subscription: commercial rights included. For songs, cover art and music videos generated while you have an active Subscription, including those made with song-pack generations, you may use the Output for any lawful purpose, including commercial purposes, worldwide and royalty-free, without paying us any further fees. For example, you may release it on streaming platforms, monetise it in videos, or use it in advertising, podcasts or games. These rights continue after your Subscription ends for Output generated while it was active. As between you and us, we assign to you any rights we hold in this Output, subject to the licence in Section 11. This is what “Commercial Rights Included” on our paywall means.
10.3 Songs made without a Subscription: personal use. Songs and cover art generated while you do not have an active Subscription, for example with the free generation, may be used only for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may listen to them, share them with friends and family, and post them on your personal social media without monetisation. When you share them publicly, credit them as “Created in Songr”. When you share a song to a messaging app, the App adds this credit and a link for you. The file itself carries no credit, so add it when you post the file elsewhere. Subscribing later does not give commercial rights to Output created before you subscribed.
10.4 What we cannot promise. The law on intellectual property in AI-generated content is unsettled and differs between countries. We do not promise that copyright or any other intellectual property right exists in any Output, or can be registered, or that you will be its exclusive owner. Others may generate similar Output. The rights in this Section are rights to use Output as described above. They are not a promise that you can stop others from using similar content, or that a distributor, platform or collecting society will accept it. We cannot give you more rights than we have. Our rights depend on the terms of the AI services we use, and those terms may change.
10.5 Third-party material. These rights do not cover third-party material in your Inputs, such as lyrics you did not write or a person’s likeness. Your use of Output must comply with Section 9 and the law.
11. The licence you give us, and Explore
11.1 Licence. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, process, adapt (for example format, compress or make previews of), display, perform and distribute your Inputs and Output. We may sublicense it to our service providers and to our successors. We use this licence to operate, improve and market the Service, including to:
- generate Output, deliver it to you and keep your library;
- feature songs in Explore; and
- use songs featured in Explore, including excerpts, titles, lyrics and cover art, in promotional materials for Songr, such as our App Store page, the Website and social media.
We do not use the photos you upload, or music videos made from them, in Explore or in our marketing. We do not use your Inputs or Output to train AI models. “Improve” means using Inputs, Output and usage data to analyse, debug and improve the Service. To the extent the law allows, you agree not to assert moral rights against us for uses this licence permits.
11.2 Explore. Explore is a showcase of songs made with Songr. We choose which songs to feature, and we may feature any song made with the Service. Explore does not show who made a song. Anyone using the App can listen to songs in Explore and read their lyrics. To take your song out of Explore, delete it in the App, or email us with your User ID and the song’s title, and we will remove it within a reasonable time. Copies that others have already shared outside the Service may remain.
11.3 How long the licence lasts. The licence for an item ends when the item is deleted from our systems, except for:
- copies kept in backups for a limited time;
- copies we must keep by law; and
- promotional materials published or produced before your deletion request.
12. Reporting content and complaints
- Report content. If you believe that content in Explore or elsewhere in the Service is illegal, infringing, or breaks these Terms, email [email protected] with a description and where you found it. We review reports promptly, remove content that breaks these Terms and act against the user responsible.
- Copyright and likeness complaints. If you hold rights in a work, or your likeness or voice has been used without your consent, send us your contact details; a description of the work or of your likeness; where the content is; a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised; and a statement that your notice is accurate and that you hold the rights or are authorised to act for the person who does. We may remove the content and, for repeat infringers, end their access.
13. Our intellectual property
The Service, including the App and Website software, design, text, graphics, logos and the Songr name and brand, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Songr is a registered trade mark of Appresio Ltd in the United Kingdom (No. UK00004373407). Except for the licences expressly granted in these Terms, we grant you no rights. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them freely, with no obligation to you.
14. Third-party services
The Service relies on third-party services, including Apple (the App Store and iCloud) and providers of analytics, attribution, storage and AI. When you use the Service, you must comply with the third-party terms that apply to you, including the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions and the terms of your mobile carrier or internet provider. We are not responsible for third-party websites or services linked from the Service.
15. Disclaimers
To the extent the law allows, the Service and all Output are provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or always available, that any feature, model or style will remain available, or that Output will meet your expectations or be free from third-party claims.
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer. In the UK, these include your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 that digital content and services are of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, as described, and provided with reasonable care and skill.
16. Limitation of liability
16.1 Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law.
16.2 Subject to 16.1, we are not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable; losses caused by your breach of these Terms; business losses, such as lost profits, revenue, contracts or opportunities; or loss of content where you could have kept your own copy. Commercial use of Output is at your own risk.
16.3 Subject to 16.1, our total liability to you arising out of or in connection with the Service in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of (a) the amounts you paid for the Service in that period and (b) £100.
16.4 If you are a consumer in the EU or elsewhere, you also keep any mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence.
17. Your responsibility
If you use the Service in breach of these Terms or the law, you are responsible for the resulting losses. These include claims by third parties that your Inputs, or your use or publication of Output, infringe their rights, for example a claim by an artist whose voice you imitated or by a person whose photo you used without consent. If you use the Service for business purposes, you agree to compensate us for such claims and reasonable costs.
18. Suspension and termination
You can stop using the Service at any time and ask us to delete your data (see our Privacy Policy, Section 12). Stopping use, or deleting the App, does not cancel a Subscription (see Section 5.4).
We may suspend or end your access, remove content, or refuse service if you materially or repeatedly break these Terms, if the law requires it, or to protect users, third parties or the Service. Where reasonable, we will tell you why. If we end your access without cause, we will tell you how to ask Apple for a refund of any unused prepaid period.
We may discontinue the Service or any part of it. If we discontinue the Service, we will give reasonable notice where possible, so that you can download your songs.
Sections 7, 10.4, 11 (to the extent described in 11.3), 13, 15, 16, 17, 20 and 21 survive termination.
19. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms, for example to reflect changes to the Service, the law or our providers. We will change the “Last updated” date. If a change is material, we will tell you in the App or on the Website before it takes effect. If you do not agree, you may stop using the Service and cancel your Subscription. If you keep using the Service after the change takes effect, you accept it. Changes do not apply retroactively to Output already generated, unless the law requires it.
20. Apple App Store terms
If you downloaded the App from Apple’s App Store, the following applies:
- Acknowledgement. These Terms are concluded between you and Appresio Ltd only, and not with Apple Inc. (“Apple”). Appresio Ltd, not Apple, is solely responsible for the App and its content. These Terms do not provide for usage rules that conflict with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
- Scope of licence. The licence granted to you for the App is limited to a non-transferable licence to use the App on any Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, except that the App may be accessed and used by other accounts associated with the purchaser via Family Sharing or volume purchasing.
- Maintenance and support. Appresio Ltd is solely responsible for providing any maintenance and support services for the App, as specified in these Terms or as required under applicable law. Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance and support services for the App.
- Warranty. Appresio Ltd is solely responsible for any product warranties, whether express or implied by law, to the extent not effectively disclaimed. If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price for the App, if any, to you. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple will have no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the App. Any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses attributable to any failure to conform to any warranty will be Appresio Ltd’s sole responsibility.
- Product claims. Appresio Ltd, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the App or your possession and use of the App, including (i) product liability claims; (ii) any claim that the App fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (iii) claims arising under consumer protection, privacy or similar legislation. These Terms do not limit Appresio Ltd’s liability to you beyond what is permitted by applicable law.
- Intellectual property rights. In the event of any third-party claim that the App, or your possession and use of the App, infringes that third party’s intellectual property rights, Appresio Ltd, not Apple, will be solely responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement and discharge of any such claim.
- Legal compliance. You represent and warrant that (i) you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a “terrorist supporting” country; and (ii) you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Developer name and address. Questions, complaints or claims about the App should be directed to Appresio Ltd at the address, email and telephone number in Section 1.
- Third-party terms. You must comply with applicable third-party terms of agreement when using the App, for example your wireless data service agreement.
- Third-party beneficiary. Apple and Apple’s subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. Upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right, and will be deemed to have accepted the right, to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
21. Governing law and disputes
These Terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or the Service, are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. However:
- if you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts, and the mandatory laws of your part of the UK apply; and
- if you are a consumer living in the EU or elsewhere, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of your country of residence and may bring proceedings in your local courts.
Before starting proceedings, please contact us at [email protected], so that we can try to resolve the issue informally.
22. General
- Entire agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any terms shown at the point of purchase, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service.
- Severability. If any provision is found invalid or unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
- No waiver. If we do not enforce a right immediately, we may still enforce it later.
- Assignment. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may transfer ours to another organisation, provided this does not reduce your rights.
- Third-party rights. Apart from Apple and its subsidiaries (Section 20), no one else has any right to enforce these Terms under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.
- Language. These Terms are written in English. Any translation is for convenience only, and the English text prevails.
